Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as bar, bar & grill, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Kalamazoo will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in Michigan usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–11 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach HopCat at (269) 210-0075; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. First off, Delanti gets 5 stars. He was probably the best server I’ve ever had in my life. He has an amazing energy/aura and he was super friendly and helpful. Such a nice guy! We did the $15 special where you get the burger, a side and a drink. It’s an amazing deal. We both chose burgers. The ingredients seem high quality, but we both felt like our burgers were VERY bland. This review probably would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for that. But I did not taste any seasoning whatsoever on my burger. I think they should make a Cosmik burger that has the same seasoning as the Cosmik fries. The cocktails were delicious. I got the tropical blue rum drink and it was so good. The restaurant was bright and clean. Things didn’t take too long. I’m glad we stopped here when we were in town, but please season the burgers. πŸ™

First time visiting and could not be happier! The service from William T was wonderful, I haven't had a server visit our table like he did in a very long time! We did the $15 special with the BYO Burger and fries.

We used to come here much more often. The beer used to be cheaper and they had great tacos, specifically the vegan tacos. We were disappointed when they got rid of the tacos but kept coming back because they had a good selection of beer, and we loved the elote queso dip. We came back last week and still got our usual dip, along with the Cajun chicken pasta, and a couple beers. Everything was just ok. The portions of the pasta was kind of small. The beer was higher in price. My husband ordered a second beer, but the server forgot to ring it in and asked at the end of our meal if he still wanted it. This place used to be buzzing with energy and people but now it's lackluster.

I remember this place growing up as the old train station. This is actually the 1st time I've been back since it was renovated into its current condition. Very cool how the took the space and changre it up, but it still looks like the old train station. They were fairly busy on a Friday night and I found an empty spot at the large bar. It was full with families and couples having a good time. I ordered an ale and an IPA along with a burger while a read. I can't remember the name of the ale, but it was good. Smooth and malty. The New holland tangerine IPA was fire though. I haven't had a good tangerine IPA since I left Florida. The hangover burger was good, although a little salty. I'm never going to say no to a burger with a runny egg. Service was pleasant and attentive.

Second time at HopCat and it was just as good as the first . always nice when the food and service are consistent. We tried the Cowboy Burger, Rodeo Clown, Pickleback Chicken, Hangover Helper, and the Buffalo Mac. Honestly, everything was pretty good across the board and everyone left happy. Big shoutout to our waiter - super friendly and smiling the whole time. That kind of service makes such a difference. Also, the location near Western Michigan University is really convenient, and there’s plenty of parking here, which is a huge plus.
